Our COVID procedures remain unchanged. Since the pandemic started, we have all been expected to wear masks in public spaces as part of the government regulations. As a result of the vaccination roll-out, the Government made the requirement for wearing face masks in public optional from 19th July. Our priority has always been to ensure we take measures to protect our clients and staff. We have provided more than 10,000 masks since we re-opened and gallons of hand sanitisers in our effort to provide a COVID secure environment. To date, we have not yet had updated information from our governing bodies or the Government. Our procedures remain the same but we will provide a further update should anything change. Paediatric hearing treatments

Our expert audiologists deliver treatment based on a child’s age and the nature of their loss. Gain insight into your options.

Having gone through the appropriate assessment, we can treat most diagnosed issues right here at the angli-EAR Hearing clinic. Paediatric treatments fall mostly in line with what we offer adults – the only difference is our child-focused approach. Our audiologists are highly trained and experienced in working with all ages, so you can rest assured that your child will receive the same expert care you would yourself.

If we notice signs of infection, you’ll be referred to a GP, where you’ll be given a course of medication to treat your child’s issue.

If hearing loss is caused by troublesome earwax, we can gently remove it for children two years old or above who are happy to sit still, following a few days of Earol or other olive oil spray to soften the blockage. Hearing loss in children may also be caused by a foreign object blocking the ear. We’ll remove it if appropriate or refer you to hospital for an ENT specialist procedure.

Most types of hearing loss are best treated with hearing aids. As an independent supplier, we have a wide range of advanced options for all ages. We can offer expert insight into which model suits your child’s needs.

Some patients benefit from surgical intervention. If a cochlear implant is required, we can perform an assessment, make a referral, then provide complete post-surgery care and rehabilitation.

Treatment for APD may require one of two paths. With auditory training, we use fun apps specifically designed for children, to help manage their processing difficulties at home and school. Alternatively, an assistive listening device can be beneficial. To overcome background noise, a speaker – such as yourself or a teacher – can wear a microphone, which transmits the voice directly into a hearing aid, worn by the child. This is particularly useful in an educational setting.

Treatment costs

Pricing varies, based on the treatment pathways outlined above. Options will be discussed with the child’s parent or carer following assessment.

● Hearing devices from £750 per ear
● Therapy from £300 per 12-week programme
