At angli-EAR Hearing, we are proud to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week (10th to 16th Feb) by highlighting the incredible opportunities that apprenticeships create. One shining example is our very own Hearing Care Assistant, Kirstie Eley, who is currently undertaking a Hearing Aid Audiology apprenticeship at Anglia Ruskin University. Through her studies, Kirstie has gained valuable skills and experiences, leading her to an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the world.
From Apprentice to Changemaker
As part of her apprenticeship, in April Kirstie will be volunteering in Sainji, a picturesque village nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. Alongside a team from Anglia Ruskin University, she will provide essential audiology care and raise awareness about hearing health in a community where hearing loss often goes undiagnosed and untreated.
Sainji is a rural village with limited access to medical care, making Kirstie’s mission even more impactful. Her goal is to not only offer much-needed audiology services but also to educate the community on ear health and early detection of hearing loss. By working alongside local organisations, she hopes to create sustainable solutions that will benefit the village long after her time there.
The Power of Apprenticeships
Kirstie’s journey is a testament to how apprenticeships open doors to incredible opportunities beyond traditional career paths. Through her training, she has gained hands-on experience, industry knowledge, and the confidence to take her skills to an international level, helping communities in need.
In previous years, generous donations have transformed Sainji in remarkable ways, from providing concrete for safer pathways to supplying essential school equipment and constructing protective walls against monsoon landslides. This year, Kirstie’s efforts will continue this legacy of positive change.
How You Can Support Kirstie’s Mission
Kirstie is raising funds to support her trip and the resources needed to make a lasting difference in Sainji. Every donation, big or small, contributes to improving lives and ensuring that vital hearing health services reach those who need them most.
If you would like to support Kirstie’s mission, please visit her JustGiving page and consider making a donation. Your kindness and generosity will help provide crucial care to a community that would otherwise go without.
This National Apprenticeship Week, angli-EAR Hearing is helping to celebrate the power of apprenticeships in shaping careers and changing lives. We are incredibly proud of Kirstie’s dedication and can’t wait to see the impact she makes in Sainji.
If you can donate to Kirstie’s fundraiser, thank you very much! Well done Kirstie for being a part of this inspiring initiative.
