Team Spotlight: Meet N’Gadie, our Paediatric Hearing Care expert

Introducing N’Gadie, Our Paediatric Hearing Care Expert!

Curious about audiology and how it impacts children’s hearing? We sat down with N’Gadie to delve into her role at angli-EAR Hearing, her insights on Auditory Processing Disorder, and the telltale signs to watch out for…

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background in audiology?

A: Certainly! I’m a Clinical Audiologist and author originally from Perth, Western Australia. Since moving to the UK, I’ve had the privilege of working with both NHS and private patients, bringing a wealth of experience to the field.

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in audiology?

A: Audiology provided the perfect harmony between my interests in humanities and sciences. The opportunity to help individuals reconnect with the world through sound while constantly learning about the intricate workings of the ear and brain was incredibly appealing to me.

Q: What services do you provide within the clinic?

A: At angli-EAR Hearing, we offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to all age groups. This includes ear health checks, hearing screenings, full diagnostic assessments, and wax removal appointments. Additionally, I specialise in conducting screenings and assessments for Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), as well as offering tinnitus consultations and Lyric hearing aid fittings.

Q: How do your services benefit clients?

A: Each service we provide is designed to address specific needs and improve the overall quality of life for our clients. Whether it’s diagnosing and treating APD to help individuals better understand their auditory challenges or providing immediate relief through wax removal appointments, our goal is to make a positive impact on every client we serve.

Q: What symptoms should someone be experiencing to get in touch with you for Auditory Processing Disorder?

A: If you’re experiencing difficulties such as trouble understanding verbal instructions, concentration issues in noisy environments, or sensitivity to sounds, it may be worth reaching out for a consultation at our clinic. Other symptoms like trouble reading aloud, difficulty locating the source of sounds, or frequently asking people to repeat themselves could also indicate a need for our specialised services.

Q: Are there any recent advancements or innovations in audiology that you find particularly exciting?

A: Absolutely! The field of audiology is constantly evolving, with advancements in diagnostic testing equipment, hearing aid technologies, and treatment approaches. Staying updated on these developments allows us to provide the most effective and innovative solutions to our clients.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working in audiology?

A: For me, it’s the interpersonal side of audiology that brings the most joy. Building connections with my clients and making a positive impact on their lives is incredibly rewarding. Plus, there’s nothing quite like helping someone rediscover the joys of hearing.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working at angli-EAR Hearing?

A: I love the variety of audiological services we offer at angli-EAR Hearing. From working with children to adults and having access to state-of-the-art diagnostic testing equipment, every day brings new opportunities to make a difference. Plus, the passionate team I work with makes it all the more enjoyable!
