Well, what a ride 2022 has been for angli-EAR Hearing!
As with life, it has been filled with ups and downs for our clients and ourselves. Unfortunately, some of our fantastic clinicians moved onto new careers. However, every change provides an opportunity, and we have welcomed some great new staff to the angli-EAR family who have settled in so well.
One of the best things about doing what we do is we get to know clients and their families and share our stories and experience. Unfortunately, we have lost some of our client family this year, that’s something which is never easy. We are thankful we have had the opportunity to know them. It’s humbling to know that we have helped reconnect them to their lives with the work our team does.
We have been working hard in the background to ensure we deliver on the vision for angli-EAR Hearing. We have a full service audiology clinic which Cambridge can be proud of. We rebuilt our website: its design won an award for its content and design. We also won an award, voted for by the public, for our Customer Service – that really means a lot to us.
We launched our Paediatric services, meaning we can truly offer hearing solutions for every generation of your family. Our cochlear implant service has continued to grow; there is still more work to do and we look forward to the challenge.
We received our CQC accreditation, which we are very proud to have achieved, and it is testament to the hard work of the team in delivering a wide and quality audiological services.
On the charity front, we are so proud to complete the Shine Walk for Cancer Research and, as a team, helped raise more than £900 (including Gift Aid). We are truly grateful for all your support for the money raised. We also started our partnership with UK Veterans. UK Veterans is a fantastic charity which helps veterans, whose hearing has been damaged as a result of their military service. We have so far donated 7 hearing aids to the charity and privileged to fit a local veteran with a donated hearing aid. We would like to do further work with the charity in 2023 to raise more funds to buy new hearing aids, and also donate preloved hearing aids for reconditioning.
2023 is about adding additional services to the clinic and offering help, support and relief to even more clients.
Some people have also asked if we will add more dogs to the angi-EAR Hearing family. Whilst this would be lovely, our plate is certainly full with our 2 sofa-hogging golden retrievers who think they are the size of Chihuahua’s…….Trevor doesn’t want to end up on the floor.
In January we will be launching our new Balance and Vestibular Assessment and Rehabilitation services with cutting edge diagnostics and rehabilitation provided by Viktoria who is completing her PhD in Vestibular assessment and rehabilitation. Watch this space for details in January.
We thank you all for your support in 2022. We are an independent business and so we are only here because of your support. There is nothing more humbling than when you recommend your friends and family to us. We look forward to offering more services in 2023 and helping your loved ones with living a better 2023 and beyond.
Best wishes and Merry Christmas,
~Trevor, Sarah and the angli-EAR Hearing team.
