How school hearing visits work
Our team of expert paediatric audiologists work with schools across Cambridgeshire and Suffolk to provide in-school ear health checks, full diagnostic hearing assessments, Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) assessments, wax removal and GP referrals.
We provide comprehensive reports for parent and carers regarding assessments, and a referral letter for them to take to their GPs for further action if required.
All assessment data information is kept strictly confidential. It may be shared on a need-to-know basis with other services within the school. This is to enable better support for the child and also to advise teaching staff on appropriate strategies for managing conditions such as APD.
We can visit you at your school, so there are no long NHS waiting times or travelling to a hearing clinic, and children can feel comfortable and relaxed in their familiar school surroundings. All our friendly audiologists are DBS checked and highly experienced with children and SEN. We are CQC registered and our service is also eligible under pupil premium funding criteria.
Our paediatric services can make a real difference at your school. Our hugely successful School Hearing Programme has produced incredible paediatric academic and behavioural results. View our case study for an example of the results we’ve been seeing through our visits.
We can also offer CPD talks for your team, explaining the link between hearing, academic performance and behaviour. Understanding is the first step to great results!
