Following a thorough initial assessment with our vestibular physiotherapist you will be provided with a tailored treatment plan.
This will include education about the vestibular system and your condition, as well as information and guidance regarding strategies to help manage or alleviate your symptoms.
For those individuals who have been diagnosed with BPPV, certain repositioning manoeuvres will be used as part of your treatment.
In most other cases, a customised vestibular rehabilitation home exercise program will be provided.
This program will be individualised and based on the results and findings from your assessment and any specific goals you have outlined.
As part of your treatment plan, your physiotherapist will also discuss with you when would be a suitable time for you to return for a follow-up review and reassessment.
At the follow-up appointment, your physiotherapist will conduct a reassessment and will either treat you with additional repositioning manoeuvres.
If you have persistent or recurrent BPPV or revise your home exercise program based on the findings from your reassessment.
Often your Physiotherapist will send a report to your doctor, or members of your supporting medical team, regarding your history and symptoms, findings from assessment, treatment plan and/or outcome.
They will also provide recommendations regarding further investigations and/or specialist review if thought necessary.
