At angli-EAR Hearing, we believe in delivering world-class care not only here in Cambridgeshire but wherever it’s needed most. And right now, our brilliant Hearing Care Assistant, Kirstie, is doing just that — all the way from Great Shelford to the foothills of the Himalayas.
As part of her apprenticeship through Anglia Ruskin University, Kirstie is currently volunteering in Sainji, a rural village in northern India. It’s a stunning but remote location with limited access to medical support — especially for hearing health. Alongside a dedicated team, Kirstie is offering essential audiology care, ear health education, and raising awareness of how hearing loss can impact daily life.
The work she’s doing is making a real difference in a community where hearing loss often goes undiagnosed and untreated. But it doesn’t stop there — she’s also helping to build sustainable solutions that will last long after her trip ends.
Kirstie’s journey is a shining example of what’s possible through apprenticeships: hands-on experience, practical learning, and the confidence to take your skills out into the world — all while helping people in real need.
In previous years, generous donations have helped build pathways, supply schools, and protect the village from seasonal monsoon damage. This year, Kirstie is continuing that legacy.
