Hearing Aids

You can rely on our fully ENT trained audiologists to help you find the right hearing aid choice - we're an independent clinic and we can help you find perfect solution!

At angli-EAR Hearing, we pride ourselves on our professional and relaxed environment, where you can feel comfortable discussing your hearing needs, and remain confident that you’ll receive the very best advice and technology.

Hear your life

There is such a wide selection of hearing aids these days, in a multitude of shapes and sizes, and with varying levels of performance. Each one is designed for different types of hearing loss, with sophisticated technology that allows the device to seamlessly monitor the listening environment you’re in, then adapt to your needs.

If you currently have hearing aids, but they’re not achieving the results you want, we can reassess your hearing ability and prescribe the most suitable solution. Hearing aids today are far more advanced than those from a few years ago, so we’re confident they’ll provide an improved quality of life quickly.

Since we’re proudly independent and have no specific manufacturer affiliation, we can offer the hearing aid that best suits your type of hearing loss, lifestyle and budget.

Do I really need a hearing aid?
Hearing aids don’t just help you hear better – research has shown they also help treat a number of associated health issues. These include:

  • Dementia. The Lancet journal says that 9.1% of all dementia cases could be avoided by early treatment of hearing loss
  • Depression
  • Social isolation
  • Broken bones. Those with untreated hearing loss are four times more likely to suffer from a fall that results in a break

Hearing aids are often referred to as brain aids. As we can see in the list above, many associated issues are a result of cognitive decline – or a reduction in the brain’s capacity.

The reason you need to get used to the hearing aids is because the hearing centre of your brain has to rehabilitate itself. It has either been under-stimulated due to hearing loss, or incorrectly stimulated due to previous instruments performing poorly. This is a key consideration when we work with you, to find and fit a suitable device.

What types of hearing aid are there?

Finding the answer can be overwhelming at first, but we’re always on hand to help make your options clear. Please bear in mind that different technology levels, shapes and styles are designed for certain types of hearing loss and specific hearing abilities. As such, some of these may not be the most suitable solution for your needs. Here is a brief overview of the different types of hearing aid.

  • Invisible hearing aids
These are the smallest hearing aids, worn very deep in the ear canal. They improve your sense of hearing, while remaining barely visible to anyone. If discretion is high among your priorities, ask us if an invisible device could be suitable.
  • In-ear hearing aids
This style of hearing aid includes a range of designs made to fit in various areas of your ear canal. These range from quite deep (though not as deep as invisible aids), to those that fill the whole concha – the bowl-like area surrounding the opening of the ear canal.
  • Behind-the-ear hearing aids
This group of hearing aids is separated into two different types. The traditional hearing aid is worn behind the ear, with a hollow tube that leads to a mould, which sits in your ear. Newer devices feature a much smaller, behind-the-ear section, and have a very thin wire that leads to a speaker, which sits in your ear. These are by far the most robust and reliable hearing aids – and when fitted correctly, can be almost invisible.

Now, before you start thinking advanced, modern options aren’t for you, we need to tell you that we have a number of clients who are approaching 100 years old. These technologies are designed to be very user-friendly. Our customers use them constantly, to successfully communicate with loved ones at home and on the other side of the world!

What’s included?

We’ll only charge for your hearing aids if you’re satisfied after your 30-day trial. Our prices include the initial hearing assessments, fitting, initial weekly check-ups and long-term aftercare appointments.

We offer many different hearing aids, so it’s not possible to give one fixed price. You may find a few cheaper options elsewhere – but not with our exemplary care. Our philosophy is to deliver the most suitable hearing solution at the best price we can. We want to be positive that price isn’t standing between you and a better quality of life, so be sure to explore our 0% interest-free financing options.

Maintenance plan
We offer an additional maintenance plan, for a small monthly fee. Customers who choose this option have ongoing service and consumable costs taken care of, hassle-free – and often at a discounted rate.
