Hearing Aids - Hear Your Life
Do I really need a Hearing Aid?
Hearing aids don’t just help you hear better but they also help to treat a number of other associated health issues. Research has shown that there is a direct link between many other health issues resulting from untreated hearing loss, which include:
• increased risk of dementia – the Lancet Journal says that 9.1% of all dementia could be avoided if hearing loss was treated early;
• social isolation;
• being 4 times more likely to suffer from a fall that results in a broken bone.
Sometimes hearing aids are also referred to as being “brain aids” and as can be seen from the above list, all these issues are a result of cognitive decline, a reduction in the brain’s capacity.
Are hearing aids brain aids?
Do you have a hearing aid which isn't working for you?
If you currently have hearing aids and are not achieving the results you think you should be, we can reassess your hearing ability and discuss the most suitable solution for you. It can be so disappointing to find that your hearing aid isn’t living up to the hopes that you had. Angli-EAR Hearing are here to help.
Technological advancement in hearing aids
Hearing aids these days are far more advanced than those from a few years ago. They can help you to hear even in background noise, they can be invisible in your ear and some can automatically change their settings depending on where you are.
The right fit
At angli-EAR Hearing we are passionate about finding the right device for your particular needs, type of hearing loss, lifestyle and budget. Since we are proudly independent and have no specific manufacturer affiliation, we can offer you the hearing aid that suits your situation best.
Why it can take a while to get used to a new hearing aid
The reason you need to ‘get used’ to the hearing aids is because the hearing centre of your brain needs to readjust or rehabilitate itself. It has either been under-stimulated due to hearing loss, or incorrectly stimulated due to previous instruments not being able to provide the stimulation that it required. Your brain now needs to start working in a better way which will result in your improved ability to hear.
Re-introducing different sounds to your brain
In the same way, when the new hearing aids reintroduce sounds to your brain, your brain will focus on all the sounds in your environment, even the ones you don’t want to hear. With prolonged use of the hearing aids, your brain will be able re-categorise these sounds and focus more on the sounds that you want or need to hear, and less on the unwanted sounds.
There are so many different hearing aids, which all differ in price, so it is not possible to give one fixed price. Whilst we may not be the cheapest around, we are certainly not the most expensive either. Our philosophy is to be able to give you the most suitable hearing solution for a fair price. We want to try and remove as many hurdles which might be in your way, which is why we also offer INTEREST FREE repayments (subject to approval).
