At angli-EAR Hearing, we pride ourselves on our professional and relaxed environment, where you can feel comfortable discussing your hearing needs, and remain confident that you’ll receive the very best advice and technology.
Hear your life
There is such a wide selection of hearing aids these days, in a multitude of shapes and sizes, and with varying levels of performance. Each one is designed for different types of hearing loss, with sophisticated technology that allows the device to seamlessly monitor the listening environment you’re in, then adapt to your needs.
If you currently have hearing aids, but they’re not achieving the results you want, we can reassess your hearing ability and prescribe the most suitable solution. Hearing aids today are far more advanced than those from a few years ago, so we’re confident they’ll provide an improved quality of life quickly.
Since we’re proudly independent and have no specific manufacturer affiliation, we can offer the hearing aid that best suits your type of hearing loss, lifestyle and budget.
Do I really need a hearing aid?
Hearing aids don’t just help you hear better – research has shown they also help treat a number of associated health issues. These include:
- Dementia. The Lancet journal says that 9.1% of all dementia cases could be avoided by early treatment of hearing loss
- Depression
- Social isolation
- Broken bones. Those with untreated hearing loss are four times more likely to suffer from a fall that results in a break
Hearing aids are often referred to as brain aids. As we can see in the list above, many associated issues are a result of cognitive decline – or a reduction in the brain’s capacity.
The reason you need to get used to the hearing aids is because the hearing centre of your brain has to rehabilitate itself. It has either been under-stimulated due to hearing loss, or incorrectly stimulated due to previous instruments performing poorly. This is a key consideration when we work with you, to find and fit a suitable device.
